Itineraries

Day 1

Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu

On your arrival at the airport-Kigali, you will be welcomed by the selected Tour Operator and transferred to Bukavu in Congo. During the journey, you will view beautiful Rwanda’s rolling hills passing through various districts of Rwanda until you reach the Congo –Rwanda border at Bukavu. Then cross border arrangements will be finalized before crossing to Congo. Finally, you will have your dinner and overnight stay at Orchids.

Day 2

First Eastern Lowland Gorilla trekking

You will start with a breakfast then taken through a safari jeep for 2 Hours to Kahuzi-Biege which is the starting point for these primates' excursion. It is here that you will be briefed about gorilla trekking dos and don’ts before setting off into the forest to track gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park for the incredible experience. Thereafter back at the Hotel for Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Second Eastern Lowland Gorilla trekking

You will be allowed to stay with the Eastern lowland gorillas for an hour for observation and photography as you watch them playing in the wild with their young ones. After this gorilla-watching experience, you will return to the park headquarters where you will find the driver waiting for you and straight away you will be driven back to the hotel for dinner and stay.

Day 4

Bukavu back to Nyungwe forest

You will start with breakfast then you will jump on to your safari jeep for the drive back to Rwanda side if time allows making stopovers to some Interested stopovers and later be dropped at the Hotel for your Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

Nyungwe Forest National Park for Chimps

Full day at Nyungwe forest. Early in the morning you will track chimpanzees and go back to the hotel for lunch. According to your wish in the afternoon you will experience the canopy bridge trail and thereafter you will go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6

Nyungwe Forest National Park waterfalls

After breakfast, you will enter the Nyungwe forest to track the Nyungwe colobus monkey or waterfalls. A walk into the forest or natural trail with knowledgeable guides well versed in botany, ornithology and interspecies relationships will be a whole new learning experience for you. You will return to the guest house for lunch and drive back to Kigali.

Day 7

Nyungwe Forest National Park back to Kigali

You will wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast. Then you will jump on to your safari jeep for the drive back to Kigali if time allows making stopovers at Rwanda Ethnographic Museum and King palace museum in Nyanza thereafter continue to Kigali.
