Day 1-2
Lilongwe to Liwonde National Park
Departing time from 8:30 am.
Leaving the capital city early allows us to stop at Dedza Pottery for their famous chees cake and Malawi coffee. We will have lunch en route before arriving at Lilongwe National Park. After parking our vehicle, we are transferred by boat across the Shire River to our accommodation. It's a short trip but we might be lucky and spot our first hippo. After our briefing on the dos and don'ts in a dangerous game area and settling in, it's time for our 3-hour sunset boat safari on the Shire River.
On day two the park will start with an early morning game drive. With qualified rangers, we set out to find the elusive black rhino and the many other wildlife species the park has to offer.
During the heat of the day, we'll head back to the camp and after a hearty breakfast. We'll have the day at leisure before meeting our ranger again for the afternoon drive.

Day 3-4
Liwonde National Park to Lake Malawi
After one last game drive in Liwonde National Park and a hearty breakfast, we cross the Shire River once more before heading towards Senga Bay. Here we will transfer by boat to Nankoma Island where we will stay for the next 2 nights. Nankoma Island is situated in Lake Malawi and the lodge offers non-motorized activities like kayaking and snorkelling at no extra cost. We will have lunch on arrival and included in our stay are all the meals, drinks(except spirits) as well as a boat cruise on Lake Malawi.

Day 5
Lake Malawi to Lilongwe
Today our "Best of Malawi" adventure comes to an end. After breakfast, we'll meet our skipper for our transfer back to the mainland. Leaving the island at 11:00 am gives us time to have lunch at Livingstonia, enjoying the lake view one more time. The drive from Senga Bay to Lilongwe winds through beautiful scenery and landscapes. We aim to arrive back in the capital city at 4:00 pm.
