Overview

Livingstone is a town in southwestern Zambia, a few kilometres from the Zambezi River and the border with Zimbabwe. It’s a hub for visitors to the Victoria Falls. The adjoining Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park surrounds the Zambian side of the falls. The Livingstone Museum traces local history and archaeology and the life of the Scottish explorer, David Livingstone, after whom the town was named.

Itineraries

Day 1

Sundowner cruise on African Queen or African Princess

On arrival, guests are met at the Livingstone Airport by our guide who will do their transfers to their hotel. Guests are checked-in at the hotel and depending on the time, they will refresh and prepare for their first activity - the sundowner sunset cruise on the African Queen or African Princess vessel. The duration of the cruise is 2 hours. On the cruise, guests will see plains game along the Zambezi River, crocodile, hippopotamus, and many bird species. Guests are served snacks and a variety of beverages.

Day 2

Safari Activities

In the early morning, guests will do a game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, which protects one of the Wonders of the World known as Victoria Falls. It also protects the wildlife that calls the wilderness around the falls home. Some of the wildlife includes buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, hippopotamus, elephant, and zebra. The game drive will be 3 hours. The next activity will be the helicopter flight with a duration of 12 to 13 minutes for the best view of the waterfalls from above and also of the gorges. Guests will have lunch at the hotel and thereafter it will be time to do the Mukuni village tour. The tour involves learning more about village life and also experiencing how people go about their day-to-day chores. The duration of the village tour is about 2 hours and 30 minutes. After the tour, guests are transferred to their hotel.

Day 3

Elephant Interaction and Rhino Walk Safari

Guests will do an elephant interaction activity in the morning. This will give them an up-close chance to see the biggest mammal on land and take some pictures. The activity duration is about 2 hours whereafter guests will have breakfast at the hotel. Around mid-morning, guests will do the next activity which is the rhino walk. This is a learning experience about one of the Big Five animals that are being protected from the threats of poachers who kill them for their horns. Later in the afternoon, we enjoy a guided tour of the famous Victoria Falls, the popular and world-famous falls. Livingstone town was named after the Scottish explorer Mr. David Livingstone. The guided tour of the falls will take at most 2 hours. After the tour, guests will be transferred to their hotel.
